DENNIS BEROS - STRATEGIC CAMPAIGN MANAGER
Dennis Beros became involved in WA’s defence from the cane
toad in June 2005 when asked to lend a hand by Tim Winton. Dennis
has been an active environmental campaigner, lobbyist and advocate
for more than 10 years, most notably as the Coordinator of the Save
Ningaloo Campaign.
He has a background in facilitation, participatory democracy, strategic
planning, group training and team-building. Dennis' involvement
in establishing and fostering effective groups in WA spans 20 years..
Dennis believes that the cane toad can be stopped but that it will
require a unique mix of science and common sense, high levels of
cooperation between government and non-government sectors and substantial
resourcing. He argues that even should we lose the battle to keep
cane toads east of the WA border, the lessons learned in the attempt
will be essential for what must come next – the direct defence
of the Kimberley!
