Gravel Pits 5km west of Gregory Tree access road on the Victoria Highway

Water has dried almost completely. Where tadpoles were found 2 weeks ago were a few very small metamorphs(less than 10mm).

The remains of a goanna were found nearby, dead for some time (reason unclear)

No other toads were found

Camp set at Big Horse Creek Campground

Approx 8:30pm (WST) we arrived at Auvergne Lagoon, approximately 10km west of Alpha Creek and 10km north of the Victoria Highway.

Cane toads were found immediately around a water trough, a 'turkey's nest' dam, and the main body of the lagoon.

Metamorphs were found around the turkey's nest, as were 2 dead goannas.

30 cane toads were captured (predominately female)

A reconnaissance flight out of Timber Creek - this flight donated by SlingAir.

The flight path was north over Auvernge, Bullo and Legune Stations, parallel with the Victoria River then returning along a similar course but several kilometres futher west.

Key Observations:
Large amounts of surface water remain on the floodplains of all 3 stations.
Most of the creeks in the mountain country also have water still in the creeks and rivers.

Several sites were identified that need immediate investigation especially on the Legune foreshore of the Victoria River and wetlands and the mouth of the Paperbark Fault complex.

At various rest stops and campground, engaged with public to raise awareness of cane toads.
